York Mets
How far will the New York Mets go in the 2007 MLB playoffs?
I am a big admirer of the New York Mets. Omar Minaya and Willie Randolph, along with the rest of the cast, have brought a newfound respect to the organization. I feel that even though they've been injury plagued this year, they have played hard and battled all season, and I think that's been overlooked.
So my question is, if they can stay healthy, how far will the New York Mets go in the 2007 post season? And why?
They're going all the way!!!

Songs Mets Come To Bat With
What do you think of the New York Mets being the 2nd most valuable franchise in baseball?
Right behind the New York Yankees. Also, it states that the Mets are the 9th most valuable sports franchise in the world.

Fox, how can you disagree? Lol. It's a fact that they're the 2nd most valuable.
That makes sense. The Mets are in the most populated area in the United States and play in a brand new ballpark that is owned by the team. So just the value of the property that is on Citifield has a Real Estate Value worth more then the a team like the Kansas City Royals. Also, the Mets own there own Cable TV Network - that is a cash cow and the Mets learned that little trick from the Yankees and there MSG Network.
You have to be careful when looking at this question. It's not talking about "success" but about "value". As a Met fan, I wish the Mets have the "success". One has to wonder how all these European Soccor teams are so valuable - it's the same concept. These soccer teams own the stadiums in places where Real Estate costs are high. I also think over in Europe the marketing of indiviudual teams is much different that it is in the US - in the US, the Yankees and Mets share Major League Merchandise with the entire league (I believe the individual teams gets a significant percentage of the cash).
I think with all the factors of evaluating value - the Mets are right up there. I suspect the Red Sox are up there too, as they have a large following with large percentages of merchandise and of course the have NESN. The one thing the Red Sox don't have that the Mets have is the new Stadium - both in the size of the Stadium and value of the Staduim (not to go to deep into this - the owners of the Mets are so dumb that they decided to open a new stadium that only fits 42,000 - Fenway Park fits 37,000). How a new NY Stadium for a team as popular as the Mets only fits 42,000 is absurd.
One last knock on my Mets - you may recall David Wright and other Mets say "Citi-field" built by "Unions" - LOL - and last year the Stadium has all these problems. Nothing like American Unions and the quality - you wonder why the US loses all it's manufacturing jobs - OK THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE QUESTION BUT THE METS GET ME VERY ANGRY OF THE LAST 3 YEAR AND WHY NOT PICK ON THE STADIUM!!!
