Welsh Pony

Is a 14.1 welsh section c pony too tall for me and can it carry my weight?
I've been looking around for horses/ponies and have found one im intrested in but do you think it's to small/big for me.
http://www.horsemart.co.uk/advert/7_yrs_14_1_hh_skewbald_welsh_sec_c_west_midlands/105155
thats her.
I am about 5'1 and weigh 7 stone and about 3 pounds.
What a lovely little horse
He will be perfectly fine for you and you will have a ball. My mare was just over 14hh and I had her from grade 6 until she died when I was in my late 20's. I never out grew her, she was solid and never had any health issues ever.
Cobs tend to be very hardy and sound horses, usually with a good temperament. He sounds like a great buy. Go and ride him and put him through his paces. If he fits your criteria then go for it.
Far too many people put great emphasis on big horses, at 5'2 I look perfectly fine on any pony 13.1hh and over. I ride my daughters ponies they start at 11.2hh up to 12.2hh and while I look odd, they are all welsh ponies and have no issues carrying me. I can even ride the 9hh Shetland when it has been naughty if I have to.
Good luck with this horse

Czechoslovakian Small Riding Pony $78.07 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Czechoslovakian Small Riding Pony is a breed of pony, used as a riding animal for children. Development of this small riding pony began in 1980 at the Agricultural University in Nitra. The initial breeding stock, about seventy mares, were kept at the Nov Bana farm. Broodmares were selected mostly of Arabian stock and also included Hanoverian, Slovak Warmblood and Hucul. A herd of twentyseven mares averaging 14.2 hands were selected for the first crosses to a Welsh pony stallion, Branco. The first offspring, foaled in 1981, were kept outdoors on the rough terrain. Additional crosses were made to another Welsh stallion, Shal, imported from West Germany. The first foals were trained under saddle and in harness in 1984 and nearly all successfully passed the working trials. Animals of the new breed are docile, with an alert but calm temperament, modest in feeding requirement and effective in utilization of food. They have good gaits and jumping ability. They stand between 13.2 and 13.3 hands high. In 1989 a conference was held at the Agricultural University of Nitra regarding the breeding programme. It was agreed that methods being used to breed a small sport horse for children fr Author: Nicolao, Hardmod Carlyle Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 76 Publication Date: 2011/04/08 Language: English Dimensions: 9.02 x 5.98 x 0.18 inches |

Exmoor Really is a Mythical Place
Situated on the border of North Devon and Somerset with views of the sea and the Welsh coast, Exmoor is the United Kingdoms smallest national park. With a variety of different landscapes varying from open moor, forest, valleys and coast it is a truly unique part of the country.
The park is managed by the National Trust whom uses sheep and cattle to graze the land and pursue in the annual burning of the scrub to ensure the health of the moors heath lands.
The park covers 693 square kilometres with 70% located in Somerset and the remaining 30% in Devon. The highest point of Exmoor is Dunkery Beacon a hill in the Somerset region boasting beautiful panoramic views of the whole area, the beacon is most easily accessible from the nearby village of Porlock. Its geology has a long and interesting history.
The rocks on which it rests were formed around four hundred million years ago in the south of the equator. Around Exmoors coast there are also silver and lead mineral intrusions to be found. The coasts limestone is an aggregation of sea creatures and corals which flourished in the ancient warm and hospitable seas.
Exmoor Accommodation Special Offers at The Exmoor White Horse Inn.
Exmoors wildlife is outstanding, residents include the Exmoor pony, three species of Deer, and numerous birds of prey including Buzzards, Kestrels, Hawks and Falcons. Night time creatures such as Badgers, Foxes and Bats can be found foraging for food in the moonlit nights.
The rivers, streams and ponds also host a wealth of creatures such as Trout, Grayling, Salmon, Dragonflies, River Otters and much more. The variety of habitats across the moors provides excellent and vital breeding ground for rare Butterflies and other insects. The great biodiversity of the area earned different habitats the titles of Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The vast expanse of Exmoor was once a Royal Forest. The densely wooded areas are no longer there but remnants of its past can be found across the moors in pockets of woodlands and the fantastic Dunster forest which is home to the tallest tree in the country a mighty Douglas Fir.
The areas flora is beautiful all year round whether it be the rustic colours of autumn of the vibrant colours of the Gorse, Heather and native wild flowers. Exmoor national park conducted a survey to record the number of ancient trees in the area with the total coming to 1700, most of these being Ash, Beech and Oak.
The areas in and around the moors includes small, charming, country villages such as Exford, Lynton, Lynmouth, Porlock, Paracombe and Dulverton. Each offers tranquil scenery paired with country charm within a country coastal setting. There are many places to visit within the moors whether cycling through Devon to Somerset and up to the Dunkery beacon, relaxing on a boat around Wimbleball Lake, strolling through the woods to where it joins the sea at Woody bay or enjoying the prehistoric scenery of Tarr steps. Riddled with folklore and mysteries Exmoor really is a unique place to step into.
Stop of and refuel at an Exmoor Inn, the bar and restaurant serve great meals seven days a week and the tables overlooking the river
