What is the best way to get to Shenzhen from HongKong?

I'm travelling to HK this December with a friend and thinking of going 2 Shenzhen for 2 days. What is the best way 2 get there from HK & what is the best way to get around there? Where should i go for sight seeing & shopping? Also like 2 check out the nite life i.e bars and niteclubs. Is it safe going out @ nite. Any tourist traps i should b looking out for? I have heard of horror stories in bars or clubs in asia countries where unsuspecting patrons unknowingly were charged excessively for drinks and so called club girls accompaying them for drinks. Should i be looking out for this and how to avoid this when visiting bars and clubs in Shenzhen? Lastly, where is a good hotel to stay?

The best way to go to Shenzen is to take the train KCR. You can take it at Mongkok or Tsim Sha Tsui, depending where you are staying in HK. Go to the last stop at Lo Wu and go through custom and volia, you are in Shenzen. The best hotel to stay is in Lo Wu, very cheap and clean.

HK is very safe at night, treat it the same as in Canada or US and use common sense. You don't want to go through a dark street corner.

Go to Victoria Peak for some sightseeing, at the Lantau Island, there is a big budda you should check out. Ocean Park, Disney Land, are great options. The shopping mall Time Square in Causeway Bay is the best in the world according to a survey. It is even better than the one in New York.

As for tourist trap especially in Shenzhen, NEVER buy anything at the LO Wu train station, they overprice to cheat on tourist. Also, always bargain, you can get some very cheap deals.

When you are at a street market, mind your wallet and don't put it in your backpocket. Lots of professional thieves can pick pocket you and you won't even know it!!

As for food, well, everywhere there is a restaurent, it is great! Try some local dimsum and spicy food. Japanese sushi is great , and Thai, oh man, the best!!!

Buyer beware! At first glance, the delightfully budget-priced two-CD Way of Life looks like a cheap and easy way of picking up the highlights from no less than five earlier Gentle Giant live albums. Interview in Concert, In a Palesport House, Endless Life, Prologue, and The Missing Face were all released on the band's own Glasshouse label during the late '90s and early 2000s, and did indeed represent a hefty investment in both time and money. But you'd be foolish to think that Way of Life might cut out the chaff. Rather, some extremely dubious editing finds songs fading, or even stopping short so often, that whoever compiled this set was obviously more concerned with cramming on as many songs as possible, as opposed to affording respect to the songs themselves. A less than informative booklet adds insult to injury, and the only piece of advice that can really be offered to anyone considering buying this collection is -- don't. ~ Dave Thompson

The Way I See It: Bumping Into Life with Low Vision

The Way I See It: Bumping Into Life with Low Vision

$17.9

For those of us who have ever lost a contact, broken our glasses, experienced our aging parents macular degeneration, or have been in the company of someone who just can?t see something, The Way I See It is a path down memory lane. Through her own recollections, the author reminds us of moments when we, too, bumped into life. Fortunately, she adds a few words of wisdom to help us get through it the next time around. The Way I See It is a compilation of 21 depictions of the author ?bumping? into life, i.e., experiencing life with low vision. Each scenario describes an adventure (or misadventure) in the authors life, categorized by daily activities, holidays, seasons, and travel, ending with a suggestion or two prefaced with the phrase the way I see it. As one of 20 people in her family who are legally blind, Dr. Myers shares moments in her daily life. As she says in the beginning of the book, ?Similar to Forrest Gumps box of chocolates, life with low vision is like going through a salad bar ? you never know what you?re going to get.? From hanging mismatched wallpaper and ruining Thanksgiving dinner to using makeup (try that when you?re blind ) and going to yet another job interview, the author shares the ups and downs of her lifes journey. What is the best way to start a conversation with a person you don't know?

For example when your at a friends party and the person you want to talk to you don't know from a bar of soap and no-one has introduced you. This is probably the one area of my life i suck at majorly. I want to rectify this. I don't mean cause i want to get into their pants either it's just a conversation thing.

ahh. i know what you mean. if its someone my age, i ask: what in your opinion is the ugliest fruit? i get laughs and pineapples, grapes, and kiwis. although i never understood the grape one... and if its someone older than me than i say hello and shake their hand. then i talk about the party. and if its someone younger than me i walk away.
i also smile alot and joke about how bdaly i dance
