Vintage Old Style
Vintage/Old Hollywood bedroom - silver bedding on maple furniture?
I want to redo my bedroom in a vintage/Old Hollywood glamour style - black and white photos, shimmery fabrics, crystals, etc. The problem I'm having is this: all of my bedroom furniture is maple, definitely "blonde", if you will, but all of the bedding I've found is either silver/pewter or kind of a greyed violet. I'd really love a luxe, champagne bedding set, but I haven't found anything yet and don't know what I would use for an accent color anyway. I live in an apartment, with basic beige walls (which I can paint) and taupe carpet (which I can't change). I don't want to paint or refinish the furniture, except maybe replacing the knobs/drawer pulls. Do you think a silver or violet bedding set would clash horribly with the blonde wood? How can I incorporate both the warm and cool colors without it looking schizophrenic? Help, please! All comments would be appreciated!
