Fresca yes I forgot about that one. It was made from grapefruit wasn't it? I think that was in the 70's.

edit- thanks for reminding me of the Bubble Up. I had forgotten about that too. I used to drink that as well as 7 Up.
Re: Prune juice and Dr. Pepper. This was what was told to us back then on tv. I do not believe that the company is going to tell you all that is in Dr. Pepper, and truthfully it tastes like prune juice is in it.
Yes, also Vernors Ginger Ale, Hires Root Beer, and a cherry coke was made by adding cherry syrup to the coke which was hand made. Also at one time from Lil Abner, wasn't there Kickapoo Joy Juice?
Christmas beers, also known as Winter Warmers, are a tradition dating back at least 2,000 years, with the ancients making highly intoxicating brews to celebrate winter’s Saturnalia. This brewmaking evolved into a holiday celebration when medieval monks, the world’s first professional brewers, pulled out their finest ingredients to produce soul-warming styles for the occasion. Today brewers continue the custom, either with centuries-old recipes or newfangled concoctions with spices and herbs, enabling thirsty beer fans to put aside their everyday favorites each winter and deck the halls with the world’s most flavorful ales and lagers, brewed especially for the holidays. Beer expert Don Russell taps into holiday cheer with a look at the world’s best--unusual, exotic, rich, one-of-a-kind brews--detailing the styles and flavors that will leave beer lovers in a froth. From Smuttynose Winter Ale to Santa’s Butt to Troegs Mad Elf to Left Hand XXXmas, there’s a beer for everyone, even a Hanukkah beer, He’Brew Jewbelation. Including funny tales and trivia behind the beers, homebrew recipes and food recipes with Christmas beer as an ingredient, and instructions for building and cellaring your own vintage holiday brews so you can enjoy Christmas 365 days a year, Christmas Beer will put even the most curmudgeonly beer drinker in the holiday spirit. Cheers!

Hamms Beer Commercial - Vintage Black and White
Is it safe to drink beer that is 20 years out of date?
i just purchased two vintage cans of Tennents Lager (from Scotland) which are highly collectable because in the 1980s the cans used to have pictures of scantily clad "lager lovelies" on them. To my surprise, the cans arrived today - unopened! The use by dates on the cans are July 1988 and August 1989 respectively. Just wondering what condition i could expect the beer to be in if i opened the cans? Would it still taste like beer or would it make me ill?
Yes,Yes,Yes!The beer will have settled out all solids so let it sit for a few days to recover from being shipped.Pour into a glass slowly so you don't disturb the sediment.I've drank some 10 year old beers that were fine...But they will taste different. The ones I tried tasted a little sweet.I think it's because the hops and malt solids settle out and their flavor disappears.Good Luck.
