Can I use my Linksys USB WUSB54G Wireless-G USB Network Adapter to connect to Xbox Live??
In other words I have the Linksys Wireless G USB Network Adapter model no. WUSB54G, and I want to know if that works with Xbox Live?
no you can not the linksys usb wifi adapter uses drive software that tells it how to operate and you would be unable to load this software on your xbox 360. The drivers for the wifi adapter made for the 360 has the drivers already loaded on it which is why it works when you just plug it in.

How to connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to your console

Because the Xbox 360 does not contain built-in WiFi networking support, you'll need to purchase an add-on external adapter if you want to network your Xbox wirelessly. The Xbox 360 wireless network adapter from Microsoft is one option. Microsoft's wireless adapter will be compatible with nearly any home network, as it supports all three of the popular WiFi local networking standards (802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g).
The Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter directly connects to the back of your Xbox 360 console.
To connect the adapter to your Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:
1. Connect the tabs on the adapter to the two slots on the back of your console near the Ethernet port and the audio-visual (AV) port.
2. Disconnect any cable that is connected to the Ethernet port, and then connect the USB connector to the USB port next to the adapter.
3. Flip up the antenna.
Note
The antenna is designed to swivel on only one axis. Do not swivel the antenna in any direction other than parallel to the adapter.
Important
Do not use the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter or its antenna to lift the console. The adapter could break, and the console could fall.
You need the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to connect your Xbox 360 to your wireless network. None of the generic USB network adapters work with the Xbox 360. There are a couple of other options for getting connected without re-wiring your house or buying the official Xbox 360 wireless adapter by using some alternative hardware.
