Opinion on possible lawsuit?
early may, i was stopped at a red light. A school bus rear ended me, they school bus did not stop, the driver said she was just not paying attn, she told the cop. it was an accident, but nonetheless. My car was not totaled, but in the body shop for 3 weeks. I have 12 herniated discs in my back 4 in my neck 6 pinch nerves in my vertebrae. I was out of work from May 2nd until august 6th. I am a single dad, have full physical and legal custody of my kids ages 2 and 4. so i basically had to stay with my parents where i could get help taking care of them. i am still in physical therapy 3x a week, and have not been able to participate in many activities i once enjoyed. I do have an attorney, but just would like an opinion on what anyone thinks this is really worth, if anything at all.
Yes, it's worth it and yes, you have a great case. Under the negligence law. She was negligent especially if she was driving a school bus.
The bus company, if privately owned, the company will no doubt offer you a settlement, if it's acceptable, your lawyer will accept it on your behalf, if not, then your lawyer can counter offer and then take it to court. So yes, do continue with it.
