Tanning Sun Bathing
Sun tanning advice pls! Fair, in the deep south and a vacation in July.?
I need tanning advice. I'm very white skinned, and have been good about protecting myself from the sun. Normally I'm proud of my "china doll" complexion but we have a beach vacation scheduled in July and I don't want to look like a ghost on the beach. I am so white self tanners look orange on me, I'm too cheap to pay for a tanning salon and I have a big open back yard with time on my hands. But, being unexperienced at tanning, I'm not sure how to get a good tan without hurting my skin. I've never been able to tan before since I burn easily and add to this I live in the Panhandle of Florida--very hot sun! So, I need advice......Oh, and please don't lecture me about skin cancer. It's not like I do this often. For once in my life, I'd like to wear a bathing suit without a pasty white behind!

i live in corpus, right by padre island, and i went to the beach today, and i looked WHITE in the sun.
but i'm naturally pale & i'm fine with that.
chances are, you'll look a bit fake with a huge tan, so if you really want color, just get a little bit, don't go brown.
it'd honestly be best if you wear like a light SPF, maybe around 15, and sit out for maybe about a half hour or less, and gradually tan.
once you get a bit darker, maybe lower it to about an 8, but i don't recommend going to anything lower or with nothing at all.
don't ever use a tanning bed.
those things are soo awful.
i know you said not to lecture on skin cancer, but you still need to realize you're raising your risk of it, and premature aging.
