Store Neon Light Oil Light on 1999 Neon Won't Turn Off?
About a week and a half ago i was driving and my oil light came on. I went to the first auto parts store i saw, bought a quart of oil and poured the whole thing in. It filled it to the max, and the car was happy again. But then i noticed my oil light was still on. It comes on very soon after I start my car, and just stays on. I've been checking the oil regularly, it's still pretty full. And i havn't seen any oily spots on the ground after I leave my parking space. My mother said sometimes once the light turns on it has to be manually turned off. The oil is clean, was just changed a month or so ago. It wasn't giving my any problems until i got too low.
no,the light should automatically turn off once its full of oil again,if it doesn't then this means it has a bad sending unit on it and it will have to be replaced,that was a real popular problem for this cars was oil sending units going bad,its not an expensive repair nor does it require a shop to install it,if its the maintenance light that is on then auto zone can easily turn it off with scanner or you can remove the negative battery cable to make it go off,either way works,good luck.
