What is the mystery for the reason behind the Jewish Star of David?
Today in Bible class, we learned that the Jewish Star of David was actually created from 2 triangles. One upside down triangle, and one upside right triangle. The upside down triangle represents a man and the upside right triangle represents a woman. In order to form the Star of David, these triangles are placed on top of one another; signifying a man on top of a woman-- sex. My question is why does the Holy Star of David represent this(sex) and why do the Jewish people use this as the symbol of their religion?
LOL! I think you fell asleep through some of the lecture. I did find a reference for male/female, but it is for a different religion. Look at this page under the section "Usage by Hinduism and Eastern Religions". Its talking about the Hindu religious symbol, definitely not Judaism!

Star of David Pendant – Inspiration From the Past That Protects Us Today
Historical figures always serve as inspiration to others that follow them. No matter if their legacy and inspiration is passed down to the generations to come in form of written or told stories, engravings on walls, monuments risen in their memory or small items that relate to them, they always have the greatest effect and they can lead to various beliefs.

I mentioned afore that their legacy can also be transmitted trough objects. An eloquent example for this would be the story of King David. You all know the story of David a young man that defeated the giant Goliath with a single stone-throw from his improvised slingshot.
As a king, David was known for his righteousness, love for music and poetry, but also for his many acclaimed victories in battle. His symbol, the six-pointed Star of David is now representative for Jewish culture and all of its followers.
Jewish people around the world have been wearing a Star of David pendant around their necks for a long time now. It is believed to have started when the Nazis started to obligate the Jews to wear this distinctive sign in order to be recognized, but proofs of its prior existence and significance has been found going back to the Middle Ages.
