Sports Theme Pub
I would like to know what are the most important things to bar goers, what makes you choose one over another?
I am the manager of a large hotel with a pub that is sports themed. The pub was once really popular because it was the only real bar here 50 years ago, now there are more popular chain bars and newer hotels with great bars and we can no longer compete with the sports theme. I need a total overhaul and I have no clue what to do with it. We have a club night on Fridays that is super successful and we have live band on Saturday nights that are really successful, but it is totally dead the rest of the week. I would like to totaly redo our image away from sports and would like to know what the most important elements of a successful bar are in your opinion and what keeps you going back to specific places?
Bars all around are suffering due to lowered BACK laws that make it easier to get a DUI, states with smoking bans have seen a major downturn in bar patronage, and tough economics forces people to stay home.
As for your specific question : the only bars I patronize are those where I am acting as DJ... and that to ever smaller crowds.
