Siping vs studs, which is better?
For folks wondering what the heck this means, the subject refers to winter tires. Siping involves hundreds of micro slices in the tread and studs are, of course, metal spike-like devices mounted in the tread.
I have had both and not noticed much diffrence in traction or handling. Siping is a smoother ride and does not have to be removed in the spring, however the tires tend to wear alot faster and will need to be replaced sooner.
