how long does it take to lose weight once you start a good exercise program and you're slightly over 30?

I've been exercising for about 45 days, and the past 8 or so have been much more vigorous and consistent but my clothes aren't fitting much differently. I don't eat a whole lot and have been eating a lot more fruits/veggies and been more conscious about my food intake. This was not a problem in my teens/twenties so I know age has something to do with it but how much longer should I expect good results?

When you are working out regularly and increasing the intensity of your workout you often need to eat more than you think you do. My trainer has said that I should eat every 2-3 hours. If I'm hungry my body is already in starvation mode and working dilligently to keep the pounds I am trying to drop. It's better in eat stuff like lean protein, fruits and vegetables, just eat smaller and more often. Keep in mind that you are exchanging muscle for fat and that muscle is more dense. Often you will lose size but not weight when you are excercising and eating well.

Allan Dwan takes on hard-boiled master James M. Cain in a film starring Arlene Dahl as Dorothy Lyons, a red-headed nymphomaniac looking for trouble. Hoping to smear Frank Jansen (Kent Taylor), the reform candidate for mayor in his city, crime syndicate boss Sol Caspar (Ted de Corsia) sends his top lieutenant Ben Grace (John Payne) to look into the private life of Jansen's secretary, June Lyons (Rhonda Fleming). He finds not only that she's involved with her boss, but that her sister Dorothy, a kleptomaniac who gets around, has just been released from prison. When Caspar murders a newspaper publisher who had supported Jansen, Ben, who is angling for Caspar's slot, supplies evidence of Caspar's involvement in the crime to June, and convinces her to accept his help in electing Jansen, making her believe he's now on the side of law and order. Meanwhile, Caspar is forced to flee and Ben takes over his job. Ben and June soon become involved, but their romance goes sour when Arlene, always in search of new friends, makes a move on the racketeer. Dahl gives one of her most unusual performances in the tight little noir, which features superb photography by John Alton.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseSingle Side - Single LayerAnamorphic Widescreen - 16:9Audio: Dolby Digital Mono - EnglishAdditional Release Material: Audio Commentary - 1. Songs of My Life...slightly Out of Tune (Paperback)

Songs of My Life...slightly Out of Tune (Paperback)

$35.83

Songs of My Life . . . Slightly Out of Tune speaks to a generation of women and men over the age of 40 who are dealing with life`s challenges, both big and small. Susan Dintino writes about love, marriage, family, aging, health scares, parenting, and staying relevant and excited about what life has to offer. Her message is one of hope, and her conclusion is that we`re all trying to do our best, and it`s better if we can do so with a smile. Susan offers gentle advice, the kind that comes from a lifetime of experience: What should you do if your spouse loves to give you the silent treatment? How do you conquer your own fears in order to be ?cool enough? to your kids during a European school trip? How do you interact with a terminally ill sibling and deal with the regrets of not spending enough time with each other? How can you make sure that you`re a good mate, parent, and person? This book shows you that life is like a song. You learn the words, but that`s not the end, because the tune can change at any time. Susan shares her journey in such a way that you`ll smile, tear up, wince, and nod your head in time to her song, because all of us are the same: We`re slightly out of tune, too.

Smoking Popes: Josh Caterer (vocals, guitar); Eli Dixon Caterer (guitar); Matt Caterer (bass); Mike Felumlee (drums).Recorded at Solid Sound, Hoffman Estates, Illinois in 1998.Personnel: Josh Caterer (vocals, guitar); Eli Caterer (guitar); Mike Felumlee (drums).Recording information: Solid Sound, Hoffman Estates, IL (1998).Recorded and submitted to Capitol Records in 1998, this finale from the Smoking Popes wasn't released until 2003 on Double Zero Records. At the time of its recording, the band was in disarray, primarily due to frontman Josh Caterer's exhaustion and newfound Christian devotion. Looking for a way out of their Capitol contract, they offered this collection of ten cover tunes. Their plan worked, as Capitol promptly rejected the album and allowed them to pack their bags. So the big question is if the fans' five-year wait for The Party's Over was worth it. While the answer is mostly no, there's still enough vigor and crackle on display to pump up the diehards. Album opener "Seven Lonely Days," a song made famous by Patsy Cline, gets things off to a rocking start, and indeed, the song's stop-start dynamics and Caterer's passionate vocals match those of Born to Quit. The band's take on the Rodgers & Hart song "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" feels like a tender companion to their "Pure Imagination" cover from Destination Failure. Elsewhere, the Popes tackle Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Burt Bacharach, and other standard bearers, but the primary problem is that every cover simply feels like a Smoking Popes rendition of the original. It's as if they took the original songs and simply morphed them with Born to Quit's musical formula. While it might sound fascinating on paper, nothing really sticks in a listener's head like the band's original songs do. Perhaps their only fault is that they set the bar so high on their previous albums. They only truly fall flat on "You'll Never Walk Alone," and only then perhaps because it can't match Caterer's pensive take on "Why Me" that immediately follows, but the feeling that they're simply going through the paces, and in the process stifling their own inherent creativity, looms over the album. Fans looking for the catchy immediacy of Born to Quit and Destination Failure probably won't fall in love with these ten covers, making The Party's Over essential only to the band's most ardent fans. Ultimately, the album feels like the sort of release that's sold only to the passionate fans during a tour, but given that it was hidden away for five years and then packaged as the Smoking Popes' official farewell, it's a slightly bitter pill to swallow from a band with an otherwise stellar track record. ~ Tim DiGravina

Honda Reveals a Slightly Bigger Accord for 2008

Honda Motor Corporation finally launched its much awaited Civic EX Hybrid which is filled with new features like DVD voice-activated satellite-navigation as well as the Bluetooth hands-free phone system. The Japanese automaker also recently took the wraps off the new and slightly bigger Honda Accord for the 2008 model year.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the new 2008 Honda Accord look is aggressive, with Honda venturing into the larger car market where competition are the likes of Ford Focus and Toyota Camry.

Chris Martin, a spokesman for Torrance-based American Honda Motor Corporation said, “Americans don't want a car that feels big on the outside, but they definitely want a car that feels like its spacious and luxurious on the inside. We wanted to make the Accord feel bold, roomy and refined."

The new car is 5 inches larger than the current Toyota Camry, sporting a 3% increase in its interior. Last year, the Toyota Camry was able to outsell the Accord with almost 94,000 units.

California has the largest noted car sales for the Honda Accord. It actually ranked next to Toyota Camry last year. "We've been getting so many calls from customers for the car and they haven't even seen a picture of it yet,” according to the sales manager Arman Marsoubian.

The 2008 Honda Accord has two coupe and sedan body styles. A new metal sheet is given matched on a more powerful and larger SOHC 3.5-liter iVTEC V6 running on a 268 horsepower and 248 lbs-ft of torque and on five-speed automatic transmission. The coupe version runs on a six-speed automatic transmission.

The sedan version also features the same V6 powertrain part but it was added with new variable cylinder management system that can be used to run either on three, four or six cylinders. The new 19/29 mpg was set as its EPA city/highway mileage giving the new coupe 16/25 mpg mileage as well.

Other options include the two iVTEC 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines running on both 177 horsepower and 190 horsepower respectively. The new car also has both reprogrammed engine control module plus the high-flow exhaust system. These DOHC engines run on 21/31 mpg mileage for its five-speed manual as well as on automatic boxes transmissions. The car also boasts of a more spacious interior.

Honda Accord does not have a hybrid version but the coupe and sedan version will be in showrooms this coming September 12. Prices and other relevant specifications like the Honda cabin filter are not yet revealed but the Japanese car maker promises to bring them out before the date of availability.
