Left off the first part, it's not really useful in my point... but I feel a lot safer knowing if one of the many local meth heads break into my house I can unload a clip on them. Instead of relying strictly on a phone and a slow acting cop.

When someone is willing to break into your house to rob you, they are willing to do more. So it isn't just material items.
People against this need to live in a high crime rate area and see just how unsafe you feel relying on some over worked under paid officers to protect you. Or the nice group of trigger happy police officers with short man syndrome... THATS ALWAYS A PLUS!
The criminals will always have guns no matter what, why shouldn't the soon to be victims?

six shooter handgun recommendation?
Ok, im looking for revolver - six shooter. I know very little about small arms handguns and ammo. Now i want a high caliber or enough caliber to do some damage. but not a huge hand cannon style, caliber gun. i want sort of a wild west nostalgia style gun. with but with good modern tech, and a higher power caliber gun. im not rich either so $300-500 is about my price range, but cheaper than that would be great too. dual action ( pull the trigger and fire, not cock the hammer then pull the trigger to fire, style) is a must. any ideas you gunnists out there? i have email displayed in my profile if i left anything out that is needed to make a decision. thanks
The Ruger GP100 357 mag. would be one of the best choices for you. The price range is right and you can shoot 38 spl for target and use the 357 for home protection. (personally I would use the 38 spl. for home defense as well).
Ruger is the strongest bar none on the market now a days.
S&W has been using powder metal parts for some time now and the system is not as strong as it use to be.
I work at an indoor range and the Ruger out last the S&W in the rental case.
