Basement Ceiling - Drywall & Drop Ceiling Alternatives?
Currently my basement is partially finished, new construction this past year. The walls are finished drywall, with blown in insulation in the floor joist and just the netting keeping the insulation from falling out currently. I don't necessarely want a drop ceiling or drywall. I'm looking for something kind of unique or different. I have a ton of sports memorbilia / beer signs / barn wood etc to plaster all over the place. It's my game room, sports watching get away basement. I thought about corrigated metal but didn't know about the noise levels? I also wouldn't be opposed to mixing up some different textures or materials either. It would be easy to do because one area is down some due to the duct work and heavy duty I beam.
Anyone have any thoughts or neat ideas? Thanks.
I used an off white fabric drop cloth in my son's bedroom, I finished in part of my basement. Fairly easy to install, with a staple gun. Simply fold the edges up and over at the wall. and tack up to about every 3rd joist to give it a tight look. I simply angled down under the steel I-beam that ran through the room. Gave it warm feel and yet cost less then $20 for a 200 sqft room.
Was easy to cut the openings for the lights fixtures and the HVAC duct... Also thought of using a pile of burlap seed bags instead of the drop cloth... but wife had ultimate veto power...
