Sign Tools Loaned

Gift certificate as a Marketing tool?
I'm a traveling notary public in CA and I charge $200 for loan doc signing. I give $20 gift card (starbucks, amc, jamba juice, etc.) to the person who referred me as a gift. Is this legal? someone told me that I can't give them more than $100 worth of gift. I'm worried because I put them as marketing fee on the last year's tax.
I have been a tax accountant for 27 years. What you are doing is perfectly legal and fully deductible. The business gift limit is $25 per gift, per person. This is a soft rule, meaning the IRS would be likely to allow higher amounts if the circumstances warranted such. You are giving a $20 gift, so you are well below the limit. Also, all business deductions are subject to hard and fast rule that they must be "ordinary, necessary, and reasonable." That's why the $25 gift limit is considered "soft."
Another reason the IRS treats the gift limit as "soft" is that it is common knowledge that a $25 gift in today's economy would under some circumstances be considered an insult. I mean a hamburger can cost $6.50! Congress, in it's lazy-ass wisdom, has not increased the limit in about 40 years.
Inflation? What inflation!

HOW TO Guerrilla Marketing 1 Bandit Signs
My son as downloaded a chat program and with this came a new tool bar?
My son as downloaded a chat program and with this came a new tool bar (the name of which I forget) but there are still problems. The problem is when we open our internet server other web site pages keep opening up and on all types of different pages i.e. loans, chat, apply now, mortgages etc etc. I have tried to clean them with my crap cleaner and nod cleaner but nothing seems to work, I have got rid of the toolbar on the remove program so there are no signs of what is causing the problem. Can any please give me some advice help to resolve/clean/wipe out the problem, please!!!!
First, uninstall the chat program that your son isntalled. Then after startup, see if you still have the same problem and then do the following actions.
Update your anti-virus software definitions. Then do a full anti-virus scan with your anti-virus software. If you don't have it, get it. Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton; anyone will be fine.
Then download and install Lavasoft Ad-Aware from download.com for free. Update all definitions and run a full system scan. If it has infections, delete them.
Download the 'Windows Installer Cleanup' from the microsoft website. Run the Windows Installer Cleanup program and remove the chat program and any other programs related to that software.
If you can't remove the malware, download your web browser and one other (Ineternet Explorer and Firefox) but don't install it yet. Clear ALL cookies and files within your current web browser. Then uninstall the web browser you are using using the windows add/remove tool in the control panel. Once the brower is uninstalled, reinstall Internet Elplorer and Firefox using the programs you downloaded earlier.
Startup the web browser and hopefully the programs shoud be gone.
If none of this works, write down all the adds coming up. Then go to google and query "how to remove the 'name of add' add" from computer and you should see some articles from some computer user forums.
