How can I join a chapter of Delta Sigma Theta after they come back from a suspension?
I want to join Delta Sigma Theta but the chapter on my campus is suspended until October of 2009 which is also my senior year. Is it possible that I will be able to pledge the same semester that the suspension ends? If so is there something I should do to make sure that it happens? I mean since most of the Deltas will have graduated will I need/be able to take steps to re-establish the chapter?
To be honest with you, it's possible, but not likely. I say this b/c just because the suspension is up, doesn't mean that they will be having intake the following semester. There is a lot of behind the scene work that has to take place BEFORE they can even consider have MIP. Plus sorors will have to go through extensive training, and have to get permission from the regional director and national headquarters before even holding a RUSH and/or informational.
At this point, I would focus on graduating from your school, and in the meantime figure out where the nearest grad chapter where you will be residing after you graduate. Once you find that out, I would reach out to them, see if they have a mailing list you can join or see if they have a website so you can stay in the know about future events.

Will my race help me get into college?
I know N.Y.U does not except anyone but they said they were looking for diversity and based on the percentage of African Americans, New York University is composed of only 4% that attends the school.
i want to go to stern school of business.
These are my credentials.
3.6 GPA(Majority honors course)-took Ap history classes
I play lacrosse
3 years of spanish
Apart of finance program in school.
In FBLA(Future Business Leader of America)
ACT score is a 27
Over 400 community service hours

You have fairly good credentials, and your race will help you get in if you are African American like you implied.
*rant begin* I personally don't think it should; colleges should choose the most qualified candidate. I find it quite racist actually that colleges and work places discriminate like that by giving minorities preference if there is a low percentage of minorities working/attending there even if they are not the most qualified or the best person to fill that place. *rant over*
Since the college is east coast, they usually prefer SAT, but ACT is also acceptable at most places.
