what do they do in a full car service uk?
i got a full service on my golf (57 plate) two litre gt diesel. 17500 miles on clock for £124.00 he gave me a print out and it stated on this that he changed the oil, oil filter, said the air and fuel filter were fine, put new nut and washer on sump and cabin filter, and also checked my tracking£10 i thought he would have changed the air and fuel filter. what do you think
Most modern cars will not require an air or fuel filter until at least 3 or 4 years, it depends on the maker's service schedules.
Volkswagens will have an "oil change service" after the first year, which is an oil change and a basic service, then an "interval service" after the second year, which is a bit more thorough, and an "inspection service" after 3 years, which is a much bigger service. Your service book will tell you what each service involves.

What do you look for to complain about when you take your Golf 1.9l diesel in for first service?
This is the first car I have bought new that has nothing to complain about. & its worrying me. I am not used to new cars that have no faults. This is my first VW.
Fuel is no problem because I go twice as far with diesel. I am getting approx 4.8l/100km. I think about68mpg..(donthold me to that!!)
