Brewery $78.07 A brewery is a dedicated building for the making of beer, though beer can be made at home, and has been for much of beers history. A company which makes beer is called either a brewery or a brewing company. The diversity of size in breweries is matched by the diversity of processes, degrees of automation, and kinds of beer produced in breweries. Typically a brewery is divided into distinct sections, with each section reserved for one part of the brewing process. Alexander Keith's Brewery in Halifax - Nova Scotia, Canada
Halifax - A City of History and Heritage
Founded in 1749, the City of Halifax, Nova Scotia has a rich naval heritage and continues to be an important center for the fishing and shipping industries. Located on the east coast of Canada, it was once called Chebucto which means "biggest harbor."
Today, Halifax is a wonderful place to live and visit. Throughout the summer months, there are many attractions and festivals that the whole family can enjoy. One of the most popular attractions in all of Canada is the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site - an important navy and military base of the British Empire. Today, guided tours are available and you can see how British military soldiers lived in the 18th and 19th centuries.
If you are a marine buff and enjoy the history of sailing, you will definitely want to put the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on your list of places to see. Not only the oldest, but the largest marine museum in Canada, it is home to a special exhibit about the Titanic.
Of course, marine buffs will not want to miss out on a sail on the world famous Bluenose II, a replica of the original schooner. Perhaps a plan to visit in 2012 when Nova Scotia will again be hosting an international gathering of tall ships.
Those who enjoy quaffing a few pints will be interested to know that Alexander Keith's Brewery offer guided tours with guides wearing period costume. This brewery is famous for it's "India Pale Ale," which is popular throughout Canada.
There is a rich heritage of Black culture in Nova Scotia, and to promote and preserve this, the Black Cultural Centre For Nova Scotia is located in Dartmouth which is located within the Metropolitan Area of Halifax. At the centre, you can visit the amphitheater and take in a history lesson or enjoy a performance.
Halifax has much to offer visitors from around the world.
