choosing the right parrot breed for me?
ok i have had bird in the past
i want a bird like this
lives more than 20 years
smart/talks
large/ medium (large perferred)
can be trained to stay on a perch so i dont have to buy a huge mongo cage(if x large bird is medium sized can buy cage)
resonable pricing
colorful
likes to be cuddled and gives kisses
can travel
i was thinking
b&g macaw
militay macaw
scarlet macaw
eclectus
or some large type of cockatoo
what do you think i am home during the week and am gone for most of saturdays the occasionall sunday but mostly home during the week
ok i read and know owners who have large parrots that dont have a cage they stay on a perch it is better for them anyway
What do I think?
I think if you want a bird to train to stay on a perch so you don't have to "buy a huge mondo cage" that you don't need to own a large parrot, period.
All large parrots need a LARGE cage - it's defacto.
You wouldn't put a great dane puppy in a kennel meant for a cat - why would you put a large parrot in a cage meant for a cockatiel.
Its common sense - and if that is one of your biggest priorities you need to just stay away from large birds completely.

i have a few q's please awnser?
hi i will soon be getting a few more birds but i have a question if 1's a hyacinth macaw the other ones a scarlet macaw the 3ird is a palm cockatoo and 4ourth is a cag will they bond to each other or me they will be in seperate cages and i will be with them every day ........ plus do you have anny incubators,brooders and hatchers to recomend or how to make a brooder for a hyacinth macaw thnx
and dont say do ur research i already have and i am experienced with all species of birds mostly large ones though
