Sauna Heater

how can i get best result from sauna?
today i have taken sauna for the first time (10 mins). temp was 86 C. i did not sweat much. i also have not found any change after taking it.
1. what is the right way of taking sauna actually??
2. how long should i spend in sauna?
3. should i put some water on the heater to get some steam?
4. when should i take cold water shower- before or after sauna??
5. what is the benefit of taking sauna?
First, remember that a sauna by itself is not a replacement for exercise. You do burn some calories due to increased heartrate, etc, but not enough to counter any increased food intake.
1) A sauna is best taken after a bout of exercise, when you have already broken a sweat. Take a brief cool down period, maybe 10 minutes, then enter the sauna.
2) Leave the sauna if you start getting light headed. 10 minutes is ok for beginners, but try to get your time up to 15-20 minutes. I've been doing these for years and spend considerable longer.
3) Water on the rocks significantly shoots the temp up and is good - it also gives your lungs some humidy, which feels good.
4) Take a cool shower, not a cold shower, about 5 minutes after leaving the sauna. Allow yourself some time to naturally cool down - your body is still processing the heat during that time.
5) The sauna's main benefit is one of ridding your body of impurities while soothing aching muscles. A little self massage of your calves and arms will do wonders for those after workout stiffness.
I read a study long ago that analyzed the sweat from a sauna after running. All kinds of mean nasty things were been eliminated - all of those chemicals that we are exposed to everyday can be found in sweat. If those chemicals are fat soluable, as many are, the exercise before helps liberate those into the blood stream, and the flow of sweat carries them away.
Also, in a public sauna, always carry a towel to sit on, so the next fellow is not sitting in your sweat. In a gender specific sauna, do not wear anything with elastic - that impairs circulation. If modest, wear your towel around your waist.
Be aware that in a sauna with a temp of 86 at the ceiling, the floor temp can be as low as 36-40. The higher seats are hotter, obviously. I prefer to lay down on a higher bench so my entire body is exposed to the same temp.
Afterwards, don't forget to drink extra water. You probably will not need sports drinks - you get enough sodium and potassium in your diet as it is.

Ukko Saunas Heaters
Picking Infrared Sauna Heaters for Your Sauna
So you've decided to get a far infrared sauna for your own personal use, congratulations! There is no better or safer way to cleanse and purify your body of toxins to make the most of your health. The next step is to sift through information on the many types of infrared sauna heaters. Which one is best for you?
Infrared heaters look and lot different than traditional sauna heaters. First of all, they don't have rocks and don't produce steam. They look more like panels than the heater box that we've come to expect.
They function quite differently, as well. Traditional heaters heat up the air, and the hot air warms us. Infrared heaters directly heat us, even though the temperature of the air doesn't rise much. They work a lot like the sun, but without the harmful UV rays. They emit a much more potent and efficient heat.
Heaters come in a variety of materials, the most popular two being ceramic and carbon fiber. Ceramic heaters are generally regarded as the most efficient and effective. The downside of ceramic is that it is less durable than other materials and takes more time to heat up. Carbon heaters are usually made of super thin carbon plates that warm quickly. When all comparisons are made, there really isn't a significant difference between carbon heaters and ceramic heaters.
With infrared heaters, the lower the surface temperature the better. The lower the surface temperature, the longer the infrared wavelength will be and the more effective the infrared heat will be for you. Different makes and models of heaters will reach different temperatures, and you want one that is below 480 degrees.
The surface area is another important consideration in your infrared heater. If you see a heater that is just a single rod, you should pass over it and keep looking. Such a heater must reach an extremely high surface temperature to do much of anything, and wont be very efficient or effective. The bigger the surface area the better, which is why all quality heaters will come in panels or sheets of some type.
Because infrared light doesn't project very well, you need to make sure that the heaters are positioned properly inside your sauna to be effective. Read labels to find out how heat is directed with the specific heater you purchase to be sure you're using it correctly.
When you decide to install your own infrared sauna, the choice of heater you purchase is important. The two biggest considerations are surface temperature and surface area, and if you keep that in mind you should have no trouble finding infrared sauna heaters that will fulfill all your needs.
