Laptop to tv connection help. ..................?
have a 7-pin SV to 3 pin rca cable like this one-

whenever I try to connect my laptop to my tv, nothing happens.
When I connect the audio cables to my tv, a buzzing sound appears on my tv.
the screen flickers once but i don't get any display on my tv. What am I doing wrong??? How do I connect the 2.
DETAILS-
laptop - Acer aspire 4710z with sv output connection.
Tv - sansui ctr tv with av in and out connections.
os- windows vista home premium.
cable - 7-pin SV to 3 pin rca cable.(nothing wrong with the cable)
Also.... THE GUY WHOM I BROUGHT THE CABLE FROM, SAID THAT I WOULDN'T NEED A TV TUNER CARD AS LONG AS I HAVE AN SV OUTPUT PORT ON MY LAPTOP.
if you want to watch tv on your laptop, you will need to have a tv tuner card, there is no other way.
Also you will need to configre the tv as a second display in the settings tab under the desktop properties. do this and the tv will work fine.
