Rottweiler Lick Dog
Bite training a dog?
I work as a security guard at the moment, and i have a rottweiler that i take to work with me. Trouble is we get lots of hoodies, and druggies on the premises, and all the dog does is lick them. What can i do to bite train her, as several of them have tried to attack me. If i could get her to bark on command, or bite.
How old is the dog and why are you exposing here to a situation where she is "licking" the bad guys?
Contrary to popular belief around here, most dogs, yours included would NOT protect you from a real threat and WILL run away...
Having said that, have your dog evaluated by a real trainer, one who understands that there are more then two drives in a dog and has the ability to see and work all of them.
Do not, under any circumstances listen to anyone that tells you to get involved in Sch...that is a sport and although is it a lot of fun, it has nothing to do with REAL world training.
It is VERY difficult to get killed on a Sch field, it is very easy to get killed in your line of work where YOU, not the police are the first defender/responder.
One last thing I want to mention to you in this. Most companies frown upon having a dog that may bite someone and bring on a lawsuit, be careful, if that dog were to bite someone you would be on your own and up a Creek without a paddle...

dog constantly licking his paw?
i have an 8yr male rottweiler who within the last week started licking the top of his front paw. i catch him doing it several times a day. a portion of fur is even missing from him licking it so much, but there are no cuts or wounds. how can i get him to stop?
Licking patches is often a sign of alergies, you should take him to the vet, to make sure. If it is alergies I am sure they can help.
