How do you format and reinstall windows xp with the installation disc using an external cd rom drive?
The cd rom drive on the laptop doesn't work, so I hooked up the external hard drive and the laptop seems to not recognize it for some reason. When I go into setup in the boot menu, there is a +(Plus sign) next to "boot from harddrive"....Is there anyway I can somehow get it to boot frm the external cd rom drive?
