Roll Neon Light
How do you remove or test the solenoid in a 2001 Dodge Neon?
I've posted several questions concerning my car recently and I feel silly for doing so, but I figure knowledge is the best thing I can try to approach this from. My car will not start as I've established in my other questions. Battery drained from the lights being on. This the 3rd time in a month that I've killed the battery. This time, it wouldn't roll over though. The lights came on. We then charged the battery to 100%. We'll probably replace the battery anyway because it's got free 1 year warranty.
However, if that doesn't work, we will need to try removing the starter which I've read about and then possibly the solenoid but I don't know where the solenoid is.
the solenoid is located on the starter,if you,ll take the starter to advance auto or auto zone they will test the whole thing free of charge,and tell you if there any problems with it,its kind of hard to do a home test on it and get good results,when they test it they can put it under a load and find out if ts causing the problems,that's what i recommend doing on that one,maybe that will put an end to your starting problems with it,good luck on it.,,,PS if you got a set of jumper cables you can jump start the starter on it with it off to test the solenoid,but it may not give you good results on it,auto zone is still the best idea.
