Im thinking about rehoming a dog from a rescue centre.Theres a fue dogs i like in The edinburgh dog and cat home

Dog Saves Road-Injured Dog: A Heartwarming Animal Rescue Tale
What I mean as a search and rescue dog, seizure alert dog and thearpy dog?
#1 I have epilepsy12 years thinking she could be registerd for that.
If she can be a search and rescue dog I just want to know If I should donate her to a place that usues em and If she could be a thearpy dog how can I get her qualified for the thearpy.
I volunteer for an organization that trains service dogs for people with disabilities. There is probably similar organization near you.
For Therapy
You can do some of this training yourself. Your girl will need basic obedience which it sounds like she has. Then she will need to take a test Canine Good Citizen. Many places offer. Search for it on the Net to get more info.
Then do a search for the Delta Society. This is a service organization that will help you and your dog volunteer together. You'll love it and it's not hard to get certified... just need the CGC.
Now, if you want to train her for SAR (search and rescue), that's a different animal (pardon the pun). Do another search for a SAR organization in your area. It's rewarding work but I have a better suggestion for you. I wouldn't donate her unless you find you can't continue to keep her. The benefits of you having her far outway any other problems.
As I mentioned, I work with an assistance dog program. We teach people to train their own dogs. You can teach your girl to be YOUR asstance dog. She can be trained to alert you for your seizures. If she is really a trainable dog, I'd start with the canine good citizen and then see if there's an organization in your area. You can look at our organization if you want and email us for help. I can point you in the right direction.
