Reds Big Red
Does your tounge start to hurt after chewing Big Red gum for a long time?
I really like the gum, but G-zus, my tounge is uncomfortable right now. My taste buds do not appreciate the torture, and any food I eat afterwards tastes like crappola, if I can even taste it at all.
I heard somwhere, on the internet, that Big Red gum can cause your tounge to fall off. Is this true?
this is why I joined YA. I can no longer speak and am currently suing Wrigley's corporation.

Was it possible for the Big Red One to be stationed in the Pacific in WWII?
I know that the Big Red One was very well known in the war against Germany. But recently, we found the name of my grandfather in a Big Red One book and we knew he fought in the pacific.
It may have been someone with the same name. the First Infantry Division fought in the ETO only. Although there were lots of Army units in the Pacific, contrary to what some folks have told. It was VERY rare during WWII for a soldier who was assigned to any component of an infantry division to have served in more than one Theater of Operation. Many different brigades and regiments made up the Big Red One -

But none of these later servde in the Pacific. WWII soldiers generally served in the regiment or brigade from basic training until they had enough 'points' to come home.'
Like the fellow above said, you could be confusing the 1st ID with the First Marine Divsion, which also had a red "1" as its shoulder patch.
