Rearview Night
Does me having a gun and being over protective a mental issue?
i actually sleep with a gun and listen to my police scanner at night,i look out the window alot and if i hear a slight noise i wake up and look around with a gun in my hand ready with a gas mask in my closet,i come home from work and look through my rearview mirror more then the front ,making sure im not being followed, i never had anything truamatizing happen so im not sure if this is normal.
Well.. a few points to make..
First off, I wouldn't say you're too paranoid, just a little - and thats not really bad. I, too sleep with my pistol next to my bed in my nightstand. Its not that I feel like someones going to break in and kill me at any given moment, its just a sense of security. Like a locked door, or an alarm system.
Secondly.. I think humans have had their lives made very, very easy in the past hundred, two hundred years. I think that to some degree, we *want* something to happen.
I think that its natural, its exciting, its adrenaline pumping. We don't get to use our adrenaline, our survival instincts or our basic primal skills any more - and we miss it.
Worse case scenario: You're prepared. And theres nothing wrong with that.
