Plumber Tools Repairs
When I turn on my bath water, the shower head has water gushing out. How do I repair it??
When I took the handle off, unscrewed the outer post that keeps the inner plastic piece in. I noticed the there is another plastic piece inside the shower outlet. I do not know how to remove that. Will I have to buy a new shower and water handle assembly, or can a plumber come in and with the proper tools remove that plastic filament in which I can not remove. I am thinking that this is the piece that has to be replaced. Please I am a disabled man with a good common sense and smart at understanding and completing projects. Financially I can not afford aplumber but if that is the way to go I will.
The way I turn on my shower is with a knob just like the hot and cold, not a pull button.
I believe the problem is the diverter in your faucet. The mechanism that stops the water from going to the shower instead of the bath fill outlet. If your faucet has a button that you pull up to turn the shower on, that piece can be purchased and replaced rather easily. Any hardware store will have them. The faucet outlet just turns off of a threaded nipple. Wrap a rag around the chrome outlet to protect it.
