Pasta Pizza Why do I get diarrhea after eating pizza or pasta?
Can the red sauce be the culprit? Its never right away...its always the next morning - the stomach cramps wake me up. Please only real answers - No "dont eat pizza" or silly things about diarrhea.
no I eat wheat bread and other wheat products and it doesnt happen. Just after eating pizza and pasta with red sauce. It doesnt even happen if I eat pasta with cream sauce.
does it allways happen? or is it only recently..you may have a mold intolerance to theses foods, but i dont advise you assume you are celiac or wheat/dairy intolerent untill you explore all the possibilities, it may be greasy foods even. My son eats no wheat dairy od fried foods during the school term, as they give him nausea, somethimes affect his bowels, and cause him to have cramps like you describe..but it is hard hard work..i let him have a break during the hols.

New York style pizza is an old dish that was first popularized in New York City as far back as the 1900s. Unlike other pizzas in the United States it has a thin crust hand tossed from high gluten bread flour. Because of the thin crust which is often served in wide wedges, New York style pizza has been popularly eaten folded in half. This is also in line with the New Yorkers' lifestyle which is usually fast paced and always on the go. In fact, New York style pizza has been known as sort of a street food. It is also because of this that New York style pizza has a light sauce and basically comes only with cheese. Toppings are added on according to the customer's preference. The customer is also provided with a choice of condiments such as grated Parmesan cheese, dried red chilli pepper, garlic powder and oregano. New York style pizza can be ordered whole or by the slice.
Calzone literally means a drooping sack in Italian. It can also mean stockings or trousers. The dish called calzone is also Italian in origin but is very similar to a turnover. It is also made of pizza dough with typical pizza toppings used as stuffing instead. These consist of various cheeses such as mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan and provolone, meats such as ham and salami, vegetables such as tomato, and garlic. After the stuffing has been added, the dough is folded over it in a crescent shape and sealed along the open edge. It is salted and then baked in the oven. Upon serving, marinara sauce is offered on the side.
Stromboli is another dish very similar to calzone. It is said to have been named after a popular 1950 film starring Ingrid Bergman. Like calzone, stromboli is a kind of turnover made of pizza dough and stuffed with various types of cheeses, deli meats, sausages and vegetables. Strombolis are not folded over and sealed, though. They are instead rolled. Another difference between calzone and stromboli is the sauce. Calzone is served with the marinara sauce on the side while stromboli contains the sauce within its filling.
Pasta, of course, is a widely known dish well loved by young and old alike. It can come in various types such as spaghetti, fettuccini and ziti. Popular sauces are marinara and white sauce with various combinations of meat, seafood and vegetables.
