Is it normal for the back part of an oven to be exposed?
Hi,
We rent a house with 6 other people. The oven is lodged between the cupboards and next to the wall mounted boiler/heat regulator.
Not sure if it was like that before but recently we've noticed that the back of the oven seems to be totally exposed (ie. when you peer through the oven door you can see there is nothing at the back; you can see the wall behind the oven).
Is this dangerous?
It is definitely not normal and dangerous. In most states if an appliance came with the apartment the landlord is responsible.If I owned that building I would want to know right away to get that fixed before it damaged or burned down my investment. In my house the land lord gave me the refrigerator and stove so he didn't have to be responsible and he didn't have to hall them away. Personally I preferred that to buying one as he is not obligated to furnish one.
I wouldn't even use the top burners in that stove. Live with the nuke (microwave oven) for a while till it gets fixed. that is a very serious fire hazard. I am surprised you haven't had one yet.

Starting An Oven Cleaning Business
Sounds simple enough doesn't it ?... couple of buckets, handful of old rags and some aerosol spray. Get a few flyers photocopied and away you go!
