When traveling there are three main importance's that you want to check out before actually going on your trip. One of those things is food since you will no doubt be doing more dining out than at just your hotel or resort.
So below, I've compiled a list of the top ten restaurants in Dubai to eat at. These are mostly Arabian type foods considering where Dubai is located so you are going to be seeing a lot of international type cuisines that they usually eat over there. As far as I know these are NOT chain type restaurants.
I know when I travel to different states or countries the last type of meal I want is a Burger King deal, especially considering I eat there maybe once every two years to begin with. Instead, I want something that's actually relevant to where I'm traveling to. In France, it was snails, in Italy it was pasta, and in Japan it was sushi and a few other oddities I had to try out!
Al Mahara – Seafood Restaurant
The fish on your plate is as fresh as that swimming in the stunning aquarium in this award-laden signature restaurant, which serves western seafood with a Chinese touch. Connoisseurs of suave please note: there is a harpist to serenade diners. Gents need to wear a collared shirt and jacket. Cuisine is Asian inspired as well as local cuisine.
Timings:
- Lunch: 12.30pm to 2.30pm*
- Dinner: 7.00pm to 11.30pm*
*Also open to non-resident guests

Gentlemen have to wear a shirt with long sleeves and collar, trousers only (no jeans are allowed) and closed shoes(no trainers allowed), U.A.E national dress is also good.
Photographies are ok, but it depends on restaurant manager's discretion.

Al Muntaha – European, Mediterranean
Al Muntaha, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, has a sophisticated yet laid-back atmosphere, with prices to match the lofty setting. One of those to ‘tick off' if you're looking for that quintessential Dubai experience. It even has a ‘mixology' drinks trolley, providing you with a perfectly balanced tailor-made cocktail.
Zheng He's – Asian, Chinese
Enjoy a feast of ‘New Chinese' flavors from the à la carte menu while you soak up views of the resorts canal by day and illuminated Burj Al Arab by night. The spacious interiors can seat 102 diners and the 58 alfresco seats are hot property in the cooler winter months.
Blue Elephant – Asian, Thai
Blue Elephant features a tranquil waterfall, exotic flowers and greenery, and intricate stained wood accents, creating the illusion that you're not in Dubai but in some quaint Southeast Asian village. Royal Thai dishes include herbs, spices and produce imported from Thailand, and the aromas of basil, chilies and lemongrass flow through the air, enticing first time patrons to order some of the spicier items!
Al Qasr – Middle Eastern
Overlooking the splendid gardens, swimming pools, and beach at the Resort makes for a splendid evening, which accompanied by a Belly Dancer and Arabian Music will whisk you away in a dream, you will not be able to forget. The food is delicious and the very helpful waiters will be more than happy to help you in the right direction and to offer you suggestions according to your own tastes. We do warn you though that such a meal can last a long time, so do ensure that you bring a large appetite and a little time to be able to soak in and enjoy the atmosphere.
Da Gama – Portuguese, European
The restaurant inside has been built to resemble a Portuguese farm house, it is lavishly designed with rich colors and they have managed to achieve a very authentic European feel to it. The upper section of the restaurant is more of a bar area, with comfortable and spacious seats, we highly recommend that you enjoy a drink here, the red house wine is very good and reasonably priced
Kwality – Middle Eastern
This Indian restaurant is located opposite the Century Hotel in Bur Dubai (formerly the Dubai Marine Hotel). Open from 8 to 11:30 the restaurant offers good quality Indian food in nice if not regular surroundings.
Focaccia – European, Italian
This Mediterranean-style country house, this classy eatery boasts authentic pizzas, pastas and seafood. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment inside, but Focaccia has remained largely unchanged, although it does have a charming Gulf-facing terrace which is ideal in winter.
La Baie – Asian, Continental, European, French, Fusion
The restaurant's foray into seafood specialization has been a huge success and, currently, La Baie is a strutting peacock. The outdoor terrace is an idyllic spot in winter, overlooking the Gulf and hotel gardens.
Shabestan – Middle Eastern
This sophisticated Persian eatery, which has more than a touch of the windswept and interesting, has consistently won awards. Tasty delights include the slow-cooked lamb and rice and chello kebab, while yogurt is a base ingredient for many dishes.
Can we say YUM? That last one sounded absolutely delish, I'll be honest I absolutely love Indian and Middle Eastern cooking but then again I have a varied palette that allows me to enjoy a little bit of everything! I love kebabs however, especially lamb type gyros with yogurt sauce, onions pita, just incredible! There are many other places you can take a look at as well as many other styles of cuisine, it really depends on what you're in the mood for and what type of food you like to eat. Enjoy!
