Are 9007HID headlights the really bright ones that blind people in other cars?
I have a focus and i am going to change out the bulbs for brighter one because i do a lot of night driving on dark roads. I was told i need a 9007 HID kit. Im not technical, can someone explain what these numbers mean. The different between OEM and these, and are the 9007 the really bright ones, like the white lights you see?? Sorry if this sounds dumb, i just want to know before i buy anything. Thank you!
The numbers are just what type of bulb that is needed for your car. It's the bulb size needed for your car. My bulb size is H1 and I have 6000k hids for my Honda Prelude and they are the brightest ones. They are white and they light up the road when I'm driving. You can get 8000k too but any higher then that then the light output is dim and not that bright. If you want the brightest then go for 6000k hids and you won't be disappointed. They light up the road 3 times better then a standard halogen bulb. Yeah so the 9007 is the type of bulb your car uses but 6000k hids are the brightest ones and that's why you have to know your bulb size so the hids work for your car. Check this site out.

Edit: I don't know what some people are talking about on here but I have 6000k hids in my stock headlights and they look fine and don't blind anyone. I had projectors before and if you put hids in them it won't be as bright and they look sh*tty so just put them in your stock housing and it will look great. Also I have never been pulled over for them because they are white. If you get 10000k or higher then you might get pulled over because they go from blue to purple. If you have 6000k or 8000k then you won't have any problems and they will be a lot brighter then the halogen bulbs you have right now. Good luck!
@mitch: You really don't know what you are talking about because 6000k hids are 3 times brighter then the standard halogen bulbs. They don't work the same way that a halogen bulb works. HID stands for High Intensity Discharge also known as Xenon. HIDS don't have a filament like a halogen bulb but instead have Xenon gas inside it. Check this site out and please get the facts before you start running your mouth. How old are you? Are you some 16 year old who doesn't know sh*t about cars?
