Can i turn off my fishtank light at night?
I cant sleep well because the light is so bright. Will something happen to them if i turn it off at night?
No it is actually really good to do that! FIsh do not have eyelids, and fish need sleep too, so the dark is good. In the wild, they are not surrounded by light 24/7 either. You should leave the light on during the day, and turn it off at night to simulate the day and night cycle of nature. However, just keep in mind, that if you have a legitimate aquarium with real plants and a filter and everything, that because of photosynthesis, the plants use the fish's CO2 to convert it to oxygen for the fish using the aquarium light. But if you turn off the light, this production of oxygen lowers. So oxygen levels in the tank lower at night when you turn off the light, so make sure you have an air pump of bubble wall or something to aggitate the water so more oxygen can enter the water for the fish.
