Neon Lights
How do iI install neon lights inside my car?
I want to install neon lights under the glove box and under the steering wheel so your feet will be lit up at night. I need to know where to get the lights, what kind of wiring things I need( if any), and how to install them. I am a rookie at this kind of stuff. Please help.

this is all that you will need to know on how to install your lights, where to get them, etc.
I. Where to get them
A. JCWhitney.com
B. Your Local Pep boys
C. Napa Auto Parts
D. Any other "good" auto parts supplier in your area.
Lets take the JC Whitney Route.

this will redirect you to a whole page full of different interior accent lights you can choose from to light up your feet at night.
But to tell you the truth, instead of neon. Try a more common, and cheaper alternative. Buy LED accent strips, they're just as bright, come in different colors like neon and also use a whole lot less of battery power, which means you won't need any modifications to your electrical system in your car. You also can't tell the difference between Neon and Led Strips because you won't really look down by your feet anyway. they are also more durable, etc. etc.
Anyways I would click on the Versa Lites. They come in 6 different colors to choose from. The best part about these lights is that they only cost $6.99 for an Interior size light.
II. How to install them
A. The first thing to do when you install them is to check for wiring harnessess that might come with the lights.
B. Lets say the light comes with a wiring harness. The first thing you want to do is pick your areas in your car where you want to install them and mark them with a small dot of a permenant marker.
C. Check for either a two sided tape that might hold these lights on, or you might have to drill some small holes to mount the lights.
D. When you are done drilling or taping your lights to your desired area, you will need to think of a way to run the wires over to the driver's side area. once you have done this and the wires are out of sight, you want to run them under the steering wheel, close to where your fuse box is.
E. You then need to drill through what is called the "Firewall", the firewall is a wall separating your engine bay from the cab of your car. Once you have drilled through the firewall, Run the wires through the hole.
F. Once they are through the hole lift the hood on your car and look for the wires, what you want to do is run both of the light's wires up to your car's battery. (make sure it is unhooked).
G. Once your battery is unhooked you should notice the two clamp or cover looking things (depending on the age of the vehicle). You want to run your wires into the clamps so that way when you reconnect your battery the wires on the lights will only work when the car is on.
H. After you have the lights connected to the wires that are connected to your battery, you want to test the lights. Start your car, look at the lights, if they are on. you have done a great job. If they aren't on you have connection issues with the battery.
I. Let's say they are on. Turn off your car. If the lights are still on, then you don't have your lights properly hooked up. You will need to repeat the steps I have shown you.
J. If you are successful; pat yourself on the back. you did a great job.
