Neon Light Replacement
Dodge Neon SXT 2005 won't start mechanic says it's the computer.?
When I try to start my car, it won't start. It's not the battery and it's not the starter. Both are good, well battery was bad, but we got a new one. When I turn the key, I hear a clicking sound (not the dead battery kind) sometimes instead of that, I hear a... clicking squeal coming from the fuse box. Mechanic connected the device that reads check engine light error code (I don't have a check engine light) and he said there was no response from the computer. This computer... what is it? He wants a $500 deposit to send it out for testing and repairs/replacement. I search on eBay for a Dodge Neon 2005 computer and it only cost about $150 to $200... What are your advices?
I had a friend a few months ago that had a 1998 Saturn Sc2. The car would not even turn over. The battery and starter were good. We ended up finding out that the Remote Keyless Entry Module(RKE) controlls the starter relay, it grounds the relay. The RKE was bad. It was an expensive fix so we just bypassed the ground, and the car started right up. This may not be your problem but its worth looking at.
