Gel Nails | Get the Latest Selection of Colored UV Gels
Gel nails are amongst the most popular nail beautification ideas. Preferred over acrylics due to their natural look and feel by clients and nail technicians, gel nails are here to stay. They are easy to apply, cure quickly under a UV light and can be applied as an overlay, extension on tips or even sculpted on nails for extra length.
The gel is usually transparent, pink or white to mimic the natural nail color. The shine and finish on application usually eliminates the need to use nail polish. However, if you prefer colored nails to flaunt your beautiful manicure and pedicure, the best way to do it would be with colored UV gels that are available in a wide range of colors to suit the season, mood or your outfit. These also last longer than over the counter nail polish.
An experienced nail tech will first prepare your nails and get them to the desired shape and length. A thin layer of the colored gel of your choice is then applied from the cuticle to the tip of the nail, using the correct gel brush. Using a big brush will help spread the gel faster and better. The nail is then cured under a UV light for 2-3 minutes or as recommended by the manufacturer. The tacky extras are removed with a remover or wiping solution.
If you desire an intense color, you can always apply 2-3 layers of gel and cure. Finish by applying a top coat to seal in the shine and prevent the gel from peeling or chipping. Done correctly, your clients are always going to ask you for colored UV gels and will forget the nail polish.
