Motorcycle Dealer Sign
i'm planning on buying a used motorcycle from another person, not a dealer , and i need to know what all i nee?
i know i need them to have the bill of sale and the title signed is there anythign else?
If you're really concerned, see if the previous owner is willing to go with you the DMV to transfer the title in person/immediately. There are benefits for both parties. For the Seller, it removes him/her from any liability for the bike from that point on. For the buyer, it gives you some assurance that the title is legit and formally transfers the bike to you immediately so that the buyer can't do any funny business.
As noted by another person, make sure the title VIN number matches the bike. You should also get the current registration paperwork just in case you get stopped by a LEO. Make sure the registration also matches the VIN and the license plate.
Oh yeah, make sure you have a motorcycle permit/license and insurance before you jump on and ride the bike.

sold a motorcycle to a dealer ship and 3 days later they say something is wrong with it?
I sold a motorcycle to a dealership and they were going to give me a check a few days later since the owner was out of town. three day later they call and say the transmission will have to be replaced and wanted to renegotiate the price. Do they even have a leg to stand on since i signed the Bill of sale and title over to them already? I know if the shoe was on the other foot they would tell me the vehicle was sold as is, tough luck,
what if on my copy of the bill of sale only i signed it?
As mentioned the bike is now theirs. Buyer beware is the old saying and as said they would have screwed you over had it been the other way around.
Are you saying they havent paid yet? If this is the case things could get messy...........I really hope you got payed before you handed over the bike.................interesting to see how you go.
If you only signed the bill of sale without the agreed sale price......hate to say it but you are screwed....you have pretty much just signed a blank check.
