Miller Mgd Beer
I've had some beer in my refrigerator for about 9 months?
It's miller lite and mgd, neither of which are my beer of choice. I just had it in case company ever wanted a beer. Rather than send it to that big sewage pipe in the sky, are there any other uses for old beer? Thanks.
Make Beer Batter Onion Rings
Super good recipe, tried and true!
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups beer
Combine in large bowl with whisk. Cover, let sit at room temperature for no less than 3 hours.
3 large yellow onions - cut into 1/4 inch slices, separate into rings.
3-4 cups shortening (Crisco) - melt in 10 inch skillet, 2 inches deep, heat to 375 degrees.
With metal tongs, dip a few rings into the batter. Fry rings, turning once or twice until they're an even delicate golden color.
Transfer to cookie sheet, (I cover my cookie sheet with foil for easy clean up) and keep warm on middle shelf of oven preheated to 200 degrees until all rings are fried.
Favorite dipping sauce:
Jack Daniels honey mustard mixed with Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing.
Enjoy! I rarely make fried foods, but maybe once or twice a year I make this recipe. (superbowl party hit!)
