- Soak feet in warm water mixed with aromatherapy oils for at least 10 minutes.
- After a good soaking, wrap both feet tightly in a warm towel. This is to open the pores of the feet and allow the aromatherapy oils to soak in.
- Unwrap one foot, and with the fingers, press the sides and sole upward and downward. Do this in rapid motion.
- Make little kneading motions on each toe. Follow through with a sweeping massage of the whole toe.
- Knead also the small balls of each foot.
- Massage calf muscles in upward and downward strokes.
- Wrap the massaged foot again. After another 10 minutes, towel dry completely.
A thorough foot massage or reflexology is practical alternative to whole body spas. Aside from easing problems in different areas of the body, a good foot massage loosens tired muscles, decreases tension, and improves the circulation.
