Does Team Penske still get money from Marlboro?
If not why do they keep their cars in Marlboro colors?
Officially, yes ... Phillip Morris USA (the makers of Marlboro) are still contributing to Penske Racing and Roger Penske. Penske is also contractually obligated by Phillip Morris to run 2 cars, no more, no less.
This brings up an intriguing scenario with both Helio Castroneves and the newly-hired Will Power. Will is in the #3 car until Helio's case is resolved. If Helio is found innocent, then he *may* get back into the #3 car. Luczo Dragon Racing (owned by Penske's son) is considered an official Penske car, but they have Rafael Matos (Rookie - '08 FIL champion) in the #12 car. Don't be surprised if you see either Helio or Will in a 2nd Luczo Dragon car.
But - to answer your question - Yes - he is still receiving funding from Phillip Morris USA.
