Taurus 66, 357 magnum has good reviews, Is this gun a great value being the Smith costs too much?
Taurus 66, 357 looks like it could be a beautiful great gun for home defense loaded with some +p's, 7 shots!
Taurus had a bad reputation for several years, but anything they have made after 2007/2008 or so will be a very excellent quality gun. People still trash them, especially here on yahoo answers, but now days they are making a very good gun, and at very attractive prices. And they have one of the best warranties in the business.
I am not familiar with the Taurus 66, but I do own a couple of taurus semi autos so my opinion is a little biased, but anyone who says that Taurus is not a good value for the money does not know what they are talking about, unless they refer to one of the older taurus models, in which case there were some problems.
There is certainly nothing wrong with names like S&W, Glock, and others...but their high price does not mean better quality...part of that price is a premium for the name. There are plenty of other high quality guns out there like Taurus, Bersa, and Kel Tec, that do not get the name recognition but offer quality products and great prices.

Desert Eagle Airsoft Pistols
Airsoft guns have taken over the mindset of the adventure-prone Americans. In this respect, Desert Eagle, the widely acclaimed Airsoft pistol has gained tremendous popularity. It is a gas-operated pistol that originated at the same time in USA and Israel. It had to be approved under Saco and for the reason had to be moved to Maine for manufacture. However Israel has reclaimed Saco and has again started producing the gun in bulk.
Desert Eagle, named intelligently, for its long distance shots just like an eagle's sight (it can fire up to 200 meters) is one of the rare pistols that work without any barrel movement. There is an interpolation of gas into the cramped space beneath the cylinder in much the same way an ink-jet shredder works. This creates the thrust for pistol shots. It is a highly technical instrument brought forth by Magnus and come in three categories. While the .357 Magnum ensures 7 rounds at a time, .44 and .5 allow 8 and 9 rounds respectively.
Desert Eagle is a bit large in the bore and overall capacity, which makes it a bit cumbersome. There is an extra pressure on the fingers too as the rounds are fired. Since it is a gas-operated pistol, Desert Eagle is averse to lead pistol use. Lead pistols, just for the record, have the highest penetrative force. This has rendered it useful only for gaming and hunting purposes.
Its trigger needs just a pull and for this to cause several reactions inside; there ought to be a loud sound. This propagates Desert Eagle into an all-time favorite Hollywood weapon. Its barrel versatility of being removable yet unmoving has taken many different pistol makers by storm. They have tried but failed to capture the barrel mechanism. Perhaps Magnum .5 dishes out the best barrel in medieval business. This has given Desert Eagle immense fame and it has tried to cash in by coming up with variants like Baby Eagle. They have all fallen flat on the face however. Desert Eagle makes use of superior cartridges and is taken in hard expeditions. This may well be the cause of its 'Desert' insertion in its name.
Desert Eagle has not lost its fascination among people with an adventurous heart. Despite its obvious disadvantages, its potential class speaks from the fact that it has been able to come up with the making that was once thought incongruously difficult. It may be used as a gun but far eclipses the price frame for such use. Thus intelligent people use it for games. Needless to say, this wonder pistol is owned only by the well-to-do.
It is not available for general sale and has to be ordered using encrypted code to ensure no piracy. Bulk bookings may get you good prices but they won't still be cheap. Price is not always an issue however, and should not be while purchasing Desert Eagle. Its mechanism may be easily installed in its variants by shifting merely the bolt and the magazines. This is also a sharp positive factor.
