Lights Sign Open
My car stopped in the middle of the road and all the lights went out... what is wrong?
the lights that open the door dont come on...no lights...i think the battery is dead but when i got a jump start it still didnt work.... the car was just bought from a used dealer a week ago. Could it be the battery? or what? There is no sign of any power anywhere.
It is an 2002 Chevy Impala.
very possible the alternator went bad draining your battery completely, if that's the case you will need a new alternator and then see if the battery will take a charge and if not you will need a new battery also.

Dawning light and psalm 97
Psalm 97 reads as follows:
The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice;
Let the many coastlands be glad,
Clouds and thick darkness are all around him,
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne,
Fire goes before him,
And consumes his adversaries on every side,
His lightning’s light up the world,
The earth sees and trembles,
The mountains melt like max,
Before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth,
The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
And all the peoples behold his glory,
All worshipers of images are put to shame,
Those who made their boast in worthless idols,
All gods bow down before him,
Zion hears and is glad,
And the towns of Judah rejoice,
Because of your judgments, O God,
For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth,
You are exalted far above all gods,
The Lord loves those who hate evil,
He guards the lives of his faithful,
He rescues them from the hand of the wicked,
Light dawns for the righteous,
And joy for the upright in heart,
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name.
This is a very powerful psalm where the call is to see the Lord’s power and look at everything else in proper proportion to this power.
In verse 1, it says let the many coastlands be glad. The importance of this verse in prayer is to keep in mind to pray for those in the distance not just the locals. The many coastlands are representative of many nations and many peoples out there that are also called to the presence of the Lord. The Lord is calling to the many in and on the distant coasts and lands and in intercessory prayer it is just as important to intervene for those who aren’t found in close proximity, people and places that we may have little personal familiarity with, yet the call is to stretch out in our prayer requests to these many coastlands.
The psalm then says clouds and thick darkness are around him. Symbolically this means that the Lord’s presence may in some ways be obscured to the soul but the Lord is still present in situations that seemingly lack light or a pathway into light. With prayer, even if you are praying literally in the thick darkness of night or a under the darkening skies of an approaching storm or just feel that way in your inner person even in the brightness of the sun, that prayer still reaches the Lord despite conditions that seem foreboding and rather unreachable as far as getting past them as an obstacles and into a hearing. Whatever real obstacles are in front of you including sheer darkness, it doesn't follow that these obstacles mean the Lord cannot be reached in prayer. The Lord or anyone else seems more unsearchable in the darkness, but the spiritual truth is that the Lord can be searched in the darkness as well. The voice of prayer lifts up also through thick and encompassing darkness, and that darkness might form from our own tenuous circumstances as well or from our own perceptions on given matters of importance to us. This psalm is very thematic towards reaching through the darkness to the Lord and that the Lord will open up a pathway of light for the individual seeker of him.
Against this darkness, lightning illuminates the thickest and darkest sky with a suddeness that is startling, symbolic of the Lord’s consuming presence which comes through forcibly even in the surrounds of the thick darkness.
Where it says that the mountains melt like wax, this is probably lava flow, which is a visible type of consuming force of nature where the flow can be equally dispersed across a mountainside. Wax melts from a candle as it is consumed by fire, and it melts all around, not just in one isolated spot and symbolically the Lord's presence can come through this way, seemingly on every side of an issue or problem you may have.
The psalm then brings the forefront , the folly of idolatry and how it is ultimately an entrapment. There is a tendency towards idolatry and it can come in subtle forms and can disguise itself as excessive strivings towards anything other than the presence of the Lord, even seemingly good things that are put in a higher order than they should be and not tempered by the continuance on seeking the Lord and his presence. Success, monetary or otherwise not toned down by proper spiritual exercises, excessive attachments to anything we can see including beauty, can tend towards idolatry. Idolatry could even be putting off God for the day, into sometime in the future when you think it would be more important to approach the Lord as it says in the scriptures, “If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts" and anything that tends to put of the Lord, even in this very day, tends towards idolatry. Just because we aren’t putting up a statue as the ancient Greeks did to say Apollo doesn’t mean the issue of idolatry isn’t a problem.
At the same time, in the more positive sense, we can relax a bit on the pursuit of all else as the Lord is such as consuming presence that a rush towards anything else isn’t going make a positive difference in ultimatum as the Lord really holds everything in his hand regardless. The later part of the psalm says that the Lord will open up a way for the righteous, but there is a need to qualify as righteous in the sight of the Lord for this to happen and idolatry isn’t the pathway to righteousness as this psalm while talking about righteousness specifically warns against idolatry and its consequences.
Verse 8 talks of the towns of Judah, and again this is where the call is wider, not just a given individual but towns and cities are called to the joyful presence of the Lord and as pertaining to prayer there is the call to pray for and spread your intercessions to faraway cities and nations as well as those nearby.
Verse 10 says that He guards the lives of his faithful. This is something not to be taken for granted in that, you couldn’t even pay for this is you wanted with all that could go wrong out there and no matter who you are, in a practical way all of us are subject to being unguarded and at risk, whether in be in this way or that way. There are so many ways we need to be guarded that we aren’t even aware of all the possibilities of what could go wrong. People might have been rescued from the wicked without even knowing it because what would have gone wrong didn’t. They weren’t there at that inopportune moment because of the Lord. The wicked however may be left behind in their wickedness if they don't repent and turn away from evil deeds.
Verse 11 says, “ Light dawns for the righteous,
And joy for the upright in heart". This is a particularly powerful verse for the hopes of an individual and a verse which is also very helpful in understanding the Lord’s ways.
Light dawns for the righteous but joy also dawns for the upright in heart, meaning it suddenly breaks through as a presence even as the light of the morning suddenly breaks through against the darkness of the night. The sudden appearance of joy which also might be a lasting presence, as from the Lord, means according to this psalm, that the Lord in this moment is judging you as upright in heart and bringing forth this joy to the uprightness in your heart, or to the upright in heart who happens to be you. Whether the Lord considers you personally to be righteous or upright of heart is something you would want to know.
We may not know exactly whether the Lord considers us righteous or upright in heart and can’t presume that. But also don’t automatically presume you aren’t upright in heart because of weaknesses that ultimately you may just have to live with.
The reason for this, is, that someone might think this can’t happen because I’m really not that good. Someone may not really believe the Lord would dawn light for an them personally. But believing this interrupts the discernment process which can be had according to this psalm. Because if you do proceed, granted with some uncertainness as to your status in the eyes of the Lord, and light dawns for you as an individual, then you can discern that this is from the Lord and he is at this very moment is seeing righteousness in you and if joy suddenly dawns, then in this very moment of this dawning the Lord is seeing you as upright in heart." With this you have a real time read as to what the Lord is thinking about you in the matter of the heart and of righteousness.
Dawn is not a little bit of light, but the whole earth lights up in the sudden presence of the dawn. Light dawns or joy dawns in not a little way but a big way for the individual. With this dawning, the Lord opens up things in a big way for you, so you should not be hesitant and think I now have a little bit of light on this situation. It is more like a whole new order has opened up and whatever you are pursuing with not be closed in on by negative forces because this dawning light relates to the consuming presence of the Lord mentioned earlier in this psalm and everything gets out of the way of this consuming presence of the Lord as he dawns light and opens up pathways for you personally.
Verse one is saying let the many coastlands be glad is indicative of the largess of this dawning but also for the individual there is a largess to this dawning as this light is spoken is a sense to one person and a whole vastness of something new can be opened up for you by the Lord’s dawning light
for you.
Also, this psalm and the idea of the Lord opening up with light for you, shows that the Lord does take initiatives and while we seek the Lord, we also need to be open to initiatives of the Lord which can be very specific to a time and place and personalized. This dawning involves a particular grace to an individual. These initiatives may involve signs and wonders and part our role in this if it happens is to believe what we are seeing and grasp its meaning.
Dawning light is also something that we just can’t do ourselves. How could someone bring the dawning light of the day into presence on their own? Think even of the morning sky, we have absolutely no control over what happens in the morning sky. It is something that just has to be done for us, or else it isn’t going to be happen, at best we can only position ourselves to be present to it and go forward into it, but we can’t bring it about ourselves.
This psalm also relates to seeking the Lord in matters regarding what has been said to be the" dark night of the soul"from the teaching of spiritual masters where even in this darkness, discernment should be sought out and the light of the Lord’s presence sought in prayer and meditation as the Lord sends his lightning bolts through your own personal darkness.
The importance of this psalm and verse 11 in particular, is that by what can happen, by the sudden appearance of light and joy, is that at least in this time, the Lord is seeing you in a favorable light as a person who is righteous and upright in heart. This is not somewhere off in the far reaching future of your life, but something that is present here and now. Light often dawns early, not later and we know this from the day itself, that early in the day, light can dawn against the darkness of night. Another lesson of this psalm is the appearance of the Lord early on, and this can happen also in terms of a prayer effort. It may not be a long time before light dawns against the efforts of your prayers, especially prayers deemed righteous coming from a person deemed righteous in the Lord's sight. An example of this is Elijah, mentioned in the epistle of James as a man like us who was righteous. Dawning has the aspect of immediacy, it comes about suddenly and with great contrast to what had been there previously. In the epistle of James Chapter 5 verse 7, it says the farmer should be patient, until he receives the early and latter rain. This verse is symbolic of the Lord also having things for us early on, not just later on. Meaning that some of us could also achieve that standing with the Lord as far as prayer efforts are concerned The dawning is indicative of the Lord considering you righteous at this time. Of course, try to keep it that way.
