Lighted Outdoor Business
Did Orchard Hardware Business cheat me ?
Bought the same outdoor lights as I did last year but there was a big difference in size and a dollar more per box this year. I happened to have an empty box from last year and discovered that the packaging had been slightly changed in size and the contents wrapped differently to accommodate a smaller size. The box was one quarter inch shorter and picture on cover had been reduced in size but hardly noticeable. On the bottom of last year's box was printed 26 ft. length of lights. This year's box was printed 16 ft. length of lights. To get enough length for this year, I had to buy three additional boxes and paid $30.00 more.
Brand name is Blue Ridge 300 Icicle Add A Set Manufactured for Orchard Supple Hardware, San Jose Ca. Made in China.
I have to wonder -- is this what a smart CEO does to bring in more money for the company ? Had I noticed the difference in length early on, I would have complained to store manager. What would he have done ? Probably nothing.
Looks like everything necessary was on the box. Nothing was printed wrong. You just assumed everything was the same as last year.
Buyer beware.
