We one time did a graveyard, castle, mardi gras (little one cause of katrina), and last halloween pirate. And if I did my own.....I would do The Open Sea. What we would do is: we put fog out, build a shark with the kicking legs in the mouth, build half pirate sinking ship, build rocks and coral reef, build a boat with skeleton fishermens, build tentacles coming out of the ship with the trick or treater dummy
I LOVE Halloween, we always go all out for decorating the house and yard, one year it was the headless horseman, complete with my husband on horseback with the flaming pumpkin!
Also Jack the Ripper theme, gas lanterns, fog, a dummy Jack and victim in yard.
We always use at least four fog machines, have the eerie music, make ghosts, what we call our spook in the attic backlit with black light, every single room is done up, we also all areas of the yard, front and back.
We have a costume party that night, creepy foods and smoking punches in cauldrons, all candlelit.
We put up a graveyard scene with tombstones, a demon coming out of the ground, several dead bodies reaching out, witches stirring cauldrons, and of course vampires and a coffin.
We've spent a lot of money over the years getting up our collection, but it is so much fun to do, we even have a closet FULL of costumes, ranging from vampires, ghouls, ghosts, super heros, gladiators, period costumes etc.
We go all out, and we love it.
We don't do cute, we do horrifying, eerie, creepy stuff.

What should I name my white cat?
we don't know if it is a boy or girl yet so some suggestions of both please. it is all white and has a little bit of very light brown on the tips of its ears, tail, and feet.
we found it at Magnolia Hill Plantation and my mom wants to name him Magnolia ("but he is white!") and call it Maggie or Mags for short but I hate that.
Some of the other animals out there are called Bacchus and Babylon after the New Orleans Mardi Gras krewes so maybe something similar to that. I was thinking Endymion and calling it Andy or Demi
