Kills Slowly Neon
Pristella Tetra acting aggressive and minor stocking question?
Hello I've been watching my fish and noticing one of my Pristella Tetra has been acting a little aggressive amongst my fish. I have 2 guppies, 2 neon tetras, and 3 pristella tetra. First off I had 5 neons and slowly but surely they've been dying one by one unfortunately. So the aggressive fish will sometimes chase the other ones to the other side of the 10 gallon, but sometimes it's chill, and sometimes may chase others a little. I know fish determine a pecking order so is it most likely just establishing dominance and nothing further. I hate having aggressive fish that kill the other ones. I was thinking of filling out the neon and pristella tetra schools, any suggestions would help?
You've answered your own question when you wrote "I was thinking of filling out the neon and pristella tetra schools".
They do establish a hierachy, but 3 is too small of a group. 5-6 would be more like it. And adding some plants for cover will do wonders and give the other fish a place to hide if a tetra starts to be a bully.
You need to keep aware of how many fish you add, though, since you're only talking about a 10 gallon tank!!!

Destroying all who oppose you can be fun in The Red Star, but more often than not it's just boring. Most levels follow the same setup: kill goon after goon before getting to the boss machine of the stage, dodging its attacks, and laying into its weak point.

You'll have your gun (which can overheat) and melee attacks to accomplish your mission, but you can also shield yourself from the enemy and pull off a special move when the meter beneath your health is full.
For me, the boss battles are where Red Star gets down to business and can actually be fun to play. These massive machines show up and begin peppering the area with their neon bullets and you need to dodge the attacks and blast the weak point, which the game helpfully points out for you.
Dodging an airship's thrusters that were slowly warming up, avoiding an impromptu laser grid, and having to shoot through turrets all to get to the weak point of a boss were enjoyable moments. I needed to keep my head on a swivel to dodge the bullets in the air and attack the monstrosity. One of the latter levels has you in the center of a circle of turrets that spin around and fire so that you're running from a pinwheel of floating death -- that was a good time.
However, getting to those battles can be a bit of a drag. See, everything looks the same in Red Star -- grated metal walkways, generic enemies, and muted colors -- so you're not getting interested on a visual level and the enemies themselves are easy to the point that you can just steamroll through them.

Some require you to melee them to death while others can be shot, but a big cyber-shield gives away who needs to be punched, so it's not like you need to be quick on your feet. I think most of the guys I came across were killed without ever getting a shot off or laying a finger on me.
