Jaw Ear
my ear is aching and it hurts when i close my jaw, whats wrong, and how can i fix it?
i can barely close my jaw and my ear is throbbing. It feels swollen inside my ear tunnel. Any advice on what is wrong and how i can ease the pain and eventually make it go away?
Otitis Media -- swelling of the middle ear -- is fairly common and presents with the symptoms you've listed. It is usually caused by bacterial infections of the ear / nose / throat.
Visit your doctor; he / she will examine your ears with an instrument called an otoscope to determine if there is wax / detritus built up in your outer ear canal and whether there is any swelling / inflammation present. You are likely to be given ear drops to dissolve any wax build-up and antibiotics to clear up the infection.
In the meantime try inhaling steam; it may help clear up the Eustachian canal that links the throat to the ears.
