Indoor Sign Can they fire me for not wearing a promotional hat at work?
I work for Arco Am Pm (a gas station/convenience store) and for the promotion of their new pizza, they want the employees to wear a red hat with a pizza box on it as if the big posters outside and indoor signs weren't obvious enough. I didn't sign on for this, especially not when there are 8 of us at my location and only 3 hats and they want us all to share.
If they give you a person hat, or there is a liner or something which makes it hygienic, OK, I'd say you have to wear it or risk being fired.
I would not share a hat, socks, or underwear with co-workers however, and I don't think the labor board would expect you to.

What could cause an indoor cat without clinical signs to be chronically neutropenic?
I am a cvt and I am hoping to pick the brains of others. She is a spayed female approximately 1 year old. She is fiv and felv negative. Great appetite eliminating normally and acting like a healthy cat. No coughing,sneezing,vomiting or diarrhea.
She had been a stray brought into are clinic hit by a car. An FHO/spay was done and at the time her wbc count was 2.4 and just as neutopenic as she is today( 5 months later)
I have heard some talk about Felv hiding out in the bone marrow but I have no clue.
Any ideas?
What could cause a cat to have a significant low white blood cell count consistently that has no signs of illness?
Recently, we had a case at our hospital...chronically neutropenic... Felv/fiv test were negative. The cat was also chronically anemic as well. As a last resort, we did a bone marrow aspirate. It was positive for FELV by IFA. We recheck an elisa snap felv/fiv test to see if the first test had been a mistake, and it was still negative. We treated the cat with vitamin suppliments, epogen for the anemia...and to this day he is doing very well...
