Will a wild bunny family take in an orphaned baby bunny?
My dog killed a mother rabbit (wild cottontail) this morning. There is one baby survivor. Its eyes are wide open, it has what appears to be adult fur, it is about 3 & 1/2 inches from nose to bum and can walk, hop & jump pretty high. The nest was destroyed by the dogs and the orphan seems to be doing well. He still has a white spot between his ears and is pretty tiny. Unable to determine if he is eating clover and grass yet. My question: There is a bunny family living under the school portable trailer at the elementary school close to our house. Will the bunny family accept an orphaned baby or will they kill it? If the answer is that it is a bad idea, I'd like to try to care for it myself. How can I do this successfully? What are the physical signs that the baby has been weaned (other than the obvious-witnessing him in taking clover and/or grass)? Thank you for your time.
Not usually, the doe will instead try to run off the intruder. This may result in the youngster's death as she is trying to protect her young and her territory.
Why don't you call a wildlife rehabilitator? They are equipped with the knowledge to raise rabbits and have the supplies to do so. Here is one site which gives contact information:

Most wildlife rehabilitators are available on weekends and holidays as well as during the week, so you should be able to contact one yet tonight. Remember that they are usually volunteers, so although there is no charge for the services a donation is always appreciated!!
Incidentally, do NOT give the rabbit cow's milk as it is indigestible to rabbits.. Also, it is rare for there to be only one young, you may want to go back to the area and see if there are other survivors.

Great Things About Rotary Trimmers

One thing you might want to look for when buying a rotary trimmer is if it can utilize specialty blades. With specialty blades, you can perforate and score your paper, and even make wavy patterns for a special look. There are even units that allow you to "dial a blade," which means you can choose from three different types of blades without having to change cartridges, making it very easy to achieve both straight and specialty cuts. While rotary trimmers have a lot of uses, one thing they're not suitable for is cutting thick stacks of paper.
