how to make a sign that will light up for my store?
WHAT KIND OF PLASTIC SHEET DO I BUY & HOW DO I MAKE & PLACE LETTERING ON THE PLASTIC SHEET SO THAT IT WILL ILLUMINATE WHEN I PLACE IT IN THE METAL BOX THAT WILL LIGHT IT UP. IT'S A SIGN THAT HANGS ON THE EXTERIOR OF MY STORE. I NEED A VERY CHEAP METHOD TO DO IT MYSELF. EVERONE CHARGES WAY TOO MUCH. THE SIGN IS ABOUT 6FT.W & 2.5FT L.
You can use any colour of semi-opaque Plexi-Glass and the peel-and-stick vinyl (outdoor quality) letters which can be purchased inexpensively from any signage company. These letters can be made in any size, any font and the vinyl is available in about 30 colours. You can probably make your whole sign this way for around $100.
Just be careful when cutting Plexi-Glass -- you don't want to accidentally melt the edges!
